17/08/2014 — Nepal Fundraiser

The Trust recently held a fundraiser for the “Phlapu School Campaign” in Nepal to raise funds for the refurbishment of two classrooms.  The day was a great success and raised $1,850 for the school.  This includes:

· wall paneling;

· ceiling work; and

· connecting electricity.

Lee and Penny are both extremely passionate about Nepal and have been to the school twice themselves to see the progress being made and to assess new requirements.

“Many years ago my late father commented to the late Sir Edmund Hillary that climbing Mt. Everest was a feat of enormous physical endurance but, in my father’s opinion his humanitarian work and dedication to his Sherpa friends in Nepal was of even greater inspiration.” - Lee Stevens
